Ancent Software is creating a package that tightly integrates modules that are built for clinical medicine involving multiple medical streams, apart from the administrative & the MIS aspect of operating a Hospital.
Hospitals typically implement MIS systems, this despite the specialty of MIS being general management computing - supporting finance and business operations, and not the intricacies of clinical medicine. This is an asymmetry or technological disequilibrium of significant importance.
Ancent proposes to bring IT closer to core healthcare clinical functions, by breaking away from the traditional business mindset and business-computing methodologies in clinical computing initiatives - under the supposition that clinical encounters are business.
The company expects to integrate Medical Informatics (Medical Information Science) with conventional Management Information Systems, thus ensuring a consummate system, replete with functions pertinent to the medical community and also the administrative staff.
The medical specialties targeted by the company in the current version comprise: Opthamology, Radiology, Gynecology, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, and Nephrology.
